Overview:

In this role, you will report directly to the Chief People Officer, serving as a trusted partner and leader within the People organization. You will drive Clio’s total rewards philosophy, including compensation, payroll, reward & recognition, and benefits. As an experienced senior leader, you will have the ability to both develop long term total rewards strategies and to dive deep into the details as needed.  You will leverage your expertise and experience to deliver high impact and innovative programs and solutions; that help drive our Human and High Performing Culture at Clio.

What you'll work on:

  • Championing our human and high-performing culture; through our total rewards philosophy, strategies and programs 

  • Lead Global Total Rewards at Clio (including global compensation and benefits, executive compensation, job architecture, compensation cycle systems and processes, promotion processes, long term incentive programs, equity planning, incentive and recognition programs, and global payroll).  

  • Stay ahead of market trends and provide expertise and thought leadership to design, implement, manage and evolve total rewards programs that are equitable, scalable, performance-driven, attract and retain top talent, and are aligned with Clio’s culture and strategic business priorities.

  • Continually optimize our job architecture framework for scale and effectiveness in attracting, developing and retaining talent

  • Lead and inspire a team that's composed of functional experts in compensation, benefits, and payroll. Provide clarity, vision, and coaching for individuals and the team.

  • Leading the development and execution of complex cross-functional strategies to address opportunities and issues in the areas of Total Rewards. Including:

    • Presenting findings and recommendations in a compelling way at an executive level

    • Monitoring total rewards programs to ensure alignment with business objectives 

  • Ensuring a fair and equitable workplace: Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of legislation and market trends impacting compensation and benefits, proactively amend policies and programs to ensure compliance with labor laws, regulations, data privacy, and financial and SOX controls.

  • Partnering closely with other members of the People Leadership Team, our Finance team, and executive team members to deliver on our commitment for competitive and impactful total rewards that attract and retain top talent.

  • Creating the infrastructure for measuring impact and effectiveness of our Total Rewards programs. 

  • Partnering as a senior leader in the broader People team, ensuring efforts are coordinated across all People and delivering a seamless employee experience.

  • Maintaining and facilitating relationships between senior leadership and external consultants as needed.

  • Manage conflicting priorities to deliver highest value initiatives that support key business objectives while respecting organizational and team capacity

  • Ensures compliance with privacy policies, regulations, and cyber security measures

What you bring: 

  • 8+ years of relevant global total rewards experience with proficiency in global benefits, cash compensation, long term incentive programs, including equity management 

  • High-growth SaaS company experience; NAMER, EMEA & APAC experience preferred

  • Experience leading a global total rewards team; ideally in a rapidly scaling global business, attracting and retaining talent in a competitive landscape 

  • Demonstrated experience shaping total rewards strategies; working with and influencing executive stakeholders and engaging in preparation of proposals to the Board of Directors (Compensation Committee)

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to package and present complex analyses and recommendations clearly

  • Operates with strong judgment, creativity, agility and flexibility; proactively recommending and adapting programs based on a keen sense of the market and how talent strategies should evolve

  • Data-driven leader with a strong ability to analyze and turn data into insights and action plans aligned with company direction

  • Experience with tools such as Radford, Pave, Workday Advanced Compensation and ADP highly desired

  • Bachelor's or Master's Degree in related discipline, or equivalent experience

Serious bonus points if you have:

  • Experience with variable compensation methodologies and design

  • Experience with both private, high-growth SaaS and publicly traded companies

  • Leading Payroll teams

The full salary range* for this role is $182,400 to $228,000 to $273,600 CAD.

In addition, this role is eligible for variable pay that is based on company performance, with actual payout amounts calculated and paid on a quarterly basis.

*We aim to hire all candidates between the minimum and the midpoint of the full salary range. We reserve the midpoint to the maximum of the salary band for internal employees who demonstrate sustained high performance and impact at Clio. The final offer amount for this role will be dependent on individual experience and skillset of the candidate. Please note there are a separate set of salary bands for other regions based on local currency.
