Clio Recognizes Law Firm Innovation and Excellence with Launch of Second Annual Reisman Awards
February 14, 2018VANCOUVER, BC— Clio, the leader in cloud-based legal practice management, announced the launch of the second annual Reisman Awards to honor legal professionals making an impact and redefining the legal industry.
Named after Clio’s very first customer, Catherine Merino Reisman, the Reisman Awards recognize Clio customers who demonstrate excellence and innovation in the following four categories:
- Best Growth Story will honor a firm that has experienced exceptional gains.
- Best New Law Firm will honor a newcomer who has weathered the trials of entrepreneurship and come out on top.
- Community Champion will honor a firm or organization that prioritizes giving back to their community, whether it be through pro bono work, donations, volunteering, mentorship, or another altruistic activity.
- Legal Innovation will honor a practice that has successfully challenged industry norms, either through technology, delivery of legal services, or meeting the needs of a non-traditional market.
“Last year, we received over 150 award submissions and were humbled and inspired by our customers’ incredible stories. We are honored to work with so many individuals truly making a difference in the legal sphere. Now in our 10th year, we know there are so many more stories about how our customers are transforming the world around them and we want to hear them,” said Jack Newton, CEO and Co-Founder of Clio.
See last year’s winners:
Recipients last year included ASA Law Group, who increased revenue from $80K per year to $1.2 million per year, The California Innocence Project, who works to free the wrongly convicted, Ergo Law, who turned a profit from their boutique law firm within a year of launch, Hite Law Group, who bridges the justice gap between free legal aid and unaffordable market rate services with a specific emphasis on serving the LGBTQ community and adult and child survivors of intimate abuse, and Vela Wood, who successfully challenged industry norms by redefining an “office space”, and encouraging employees to travel internationally.
“It was an honor and a privilege to be recognized at the inaugural Reisman Awards,” said Mike Semanchik, Managing Attorney at the California Innocence Project. “Clio is such an integral part of our process of freeing innocent people from prison. We are thankful for the product and were humbled to be chosen as a Community Champion for the work we do. We couldn’t give our clients freedom without Clio’s assistance.”
Submissions are open to all Clio customers, including those who applied last year, and will be judged based on several factors, including a compelling story, well-documented results, and relevance to the category.
Finalists will receive a complimentary pass to the Clio Cloud Conference in New Orleans, October 4-5, 2018 and a professional video highlighting their firm. Winners will be presented a trophy on stage at the Clio Cloud Conference along with a digital badge, a professional video highlighting their firm, a press release announcing their recognition, and inclusion in future Clio marketing materials.
Submissions are open until March 22, 2018.
